Submerge into tranquility with Hannah Bahng’s “Perfect Blues”

In case you aren’t familiar with Hannah Bahng, the 19-year-old triple threat singer, songwriter, and entertainment company founder has just released her debut single, titled: perfect blues.
Bahng has taken to being creative on many social media platforms, from gaining a following on TikTok and Instagram, fans have grown to love Bahng for the outgoing personality she has shared with us. As someone who found Hannah through her TikTok, it has been rewarding to watch her grow as an artist, ultimately leading to the release of the debut single (which I had previously preordered).
Before her debut, Bahng perfectly captured the “perfect blues” essence through the release of different teaser photos and videos, giving an insight into the peacefulness brought forth through the song’s composition. The blue hues contrasting with Bahng’s white dress, create a feeling of innocence and curiosity, while other photos which feature the singer with a ukulele, rafting in the ocean, bring forth the darker undertones that are evident in the song.

The first verse instantly captured my attention, from the soft vocals to the melodic strums Hannah recorded on the ukulele, it was apparent that this song was crafted to perfectly capture the essence Bahng wishes to put out as an artist. I would be lying if I said I didn’t immediately add this song to my current on-repeat playlist as soon as the first chorus had started. The way the instrumental started to pick up its pace, yet the lyrics began to portray a more solemn message had me reeling in satisfaction: “I scream pleading to take me (Take me far away)/I feel guilty singing "Take me" (I slumber today)/I pray to make new waves/Feeling blue (A phase).” Songs that can make you want to dance and be your new “feel-good” song, yet portray important messages have been on the rise, and it is safe to say that Hannah’s attention to detail and melodic viewpoints have paid off with over 625,000 views in only 16 hours after it’s release (as of writing this article).
Hannah’s attention to detail does not stop with her music. Fans were surprised at how thought out and well put together the physical album is, featuring handwritten notes, signed cards, and even varying messages in a bottle. You can watch the official unboxing video, here.
