TRENDZ’s BLUE SET CHAPTER. NEW DAYZ is captivating and powerful

With a little over a year after their debut, TRENDZ is quickly making themselves known in the K-Pop world. TRENDZ consists of 7 members: Havit, Leon, Yoonwoo, Hankook, ra.L, Eunil, and Yechan. With consistent releases, TRENDZ is back to complete their [BLUE SET] saga with BLUE SET CHAPTER. NEW DAYZ.
The Single Album consists of three tracks: Nightmare, NEW DAYZ, and Fantasy. These new additions to TRENDZ’s discography are strung with raw emotion, telling stories through both the lyrics and instrumentals.
The first song, “Nightmare”, is a R&B song highlighting feelings towards fears of the unknown. The song starts off with a smooth ambiance that transition seamlessly into Leon’s vocals.
“어두운 먹구름 무너진 꿈과 도망
I'm falling now
더 커진 두려움과 anxiety, I'm confused now
알 수 없는..”
English Translation:
“Dark rain clouds, broken dreams, escape
I'm falling now
Growing fears and anxiety, I'm confused now
an unfamiliar…”
Hankook is next on vocals, rapping his next lines to continue the thought started by Leon. Hankook is also the Leader of TRENDZ, and serves as visual alongside Yoonwoo. After listening to Nightmare, I immediately added the song to my playlist of mellifluous songs due to the stunning harmonies presented through the track.
The title track, “NEW DAYZ”, has more of a pop-punk sound, showing the true duality of the group, and how well-rounded their talents truly are. I recommend listening to this song through the music video, as the visuals and scenes are exhilarating. My first watch-through, I could not look away. From the intense choreography to the powerful acting showcased in this music video, TRENDZ truly has it all.
The final song on TRENDZ’s single album is titled “Fantasy”. The beat of this song contrasts with the previous two in a fun and youthful way. “Fantasy” tells the story of a boy who has escaped from a fake fantasy, and returns to ultimately save his friends who are still trapped.
All three songs, while vastly different, contribute to the amazing sounds that make TRENDZ. The band is still in their promotion period and just had a fan sign event for Friendz (프렌드지) (A dear friend who will go through everything together with TRENDZ), their fans.
